Pay me online NOW!... No fees whatsoever
and you can pay by credit card...READ BELOW FOR DETAILS
I prefer payment using eBay's Pay Pal services
and you will receive an invoice for your win automatically from eBay
with easy payment links to Pay Pal. You no longer need to be a Pay
Pal member to use their services to pay for an item. You can pay for
the one item using a credit card and never open a Pay Pal account,
it is that easy.
If you are a member of Pay Pal and want to combine wins or add additional
items to your order, then just let me know and I will issue a correct
payment request (invoice) for all the items bought. If you are not
a member now you should sign up today and become Verified and Confirmed,
it is fast and easy to do. Unfortunately, Pay Pal cannot Confirm a
shipping address on international customers at present.
I MUST SHIP TO THE CARD HOLDERS CONFIRMED
ADDRESS ONLY!
I cannot ship to a different address (other
then the one on file with Pay Pal), so please don't ask me to do so.
Pay Pal as well as all credit card companies have found the highest
degree of fraud comes from domestic and international charges that
will ship to a secondary address. I must ship the "CONFIRMED"
address only, this is the address your statements are sent to and
the one you have "CONFIRMED" with Pay Pal. CONFIRMATION
is easy to do, go to your Pay Pal account and under "Profile"
you will find the link to become "CONFIRMED."
Verification is simply verifying
that the email address you are using for your Pay Pal account
is in fact yours. To Verify your account on eBay all you need
to do is click the Verification link, they will send an email
to the email address you have listed. Once you receive this email
there is a link back to Pay Pal and once you hit that link your
account is Verified. It is fast and easy to do it!
READ THIS FROM PAY PAL'S SECURITY SECTION:
Ship to the Buyer's Confirmed Address only.
A buyer's Confirmed Address is checked against the credit card billing
address maintained by his or her credit card company. By shipping
to this address, you reduce the risk that your buyer is using a stolen
credit card. (For example, a fraudulent buyer might provide the real
billing address of a stolen credit card so it passes an address verification
check, and then ask the seller to ship to a different address where
he can receive shipment.)
If you want me to ship to an address of a friend
or relative, your business address, or any other address, I won't
be able to, as I will be liable if there are any problems with delivery.
If you have a problem with this policy, it will be easier for you
to simply send me a check or money order or email me first to discuss
this.
Note: During the Holidays I will offer a special
Gift Service and will ship to a Gift Recipient on these auctions only.
OLD FASHIONED AND WANT TO MAIL YOUR PAYMENT?
Winning bidders may also pay for their win by,
money order or bank check. I can only accept personal or business
checks (which will be held up to 5 days for band clearance).
I will not ship COD to anyone, ever.
Although according to eBay guidelines, I have
up to 14 days to ship you and complete the transaction ,
I generally ship the same day or next business day from receipt
of payment, except if I am on vacation or some other unusual circumstances
prevent me from doing so (and this will be noted in my auctions).
If that is the case I will notify you accordingly. I pride myself
on fast shipments and happy winners.
MAIL BANK CHECK OR MONEY ORDER TO:
Len Rapoport - 15 Carlow Way - Hazlet, NJ 07730
Important:
Please make sure to let me know what you are sending payment for. May
sound silly, but I can't tell you how many payments I get in the mail
with nothing written on them nor any note telling me what the payment
is for. The best thing is to simply print the "Win" notice
I sent you , it has all the information I will need on it (make sure
the name and address you originally emailed me is the same you want
me to ship to).
SHIPPING
& HANDLING COSTS - IMPORTANT READ THIS
I
quote an "estimated shipping and handling fee" on
all of my auctions, even though I may list a cost on each auction.
I am usually on the mark on most, but on some, especially heavier items
(or International Shipments), the rate changes a great deal depending
on how far it is shipped from New Jersey to its final destination
adn on flat rate shipping options, I can find myself in trouble by
underestimating these costs.
A 14 pound package that I have indicated would cost $16 to ship, might
in fact cost $22 if shipped to the West Coast and even more if going
to Hawaii. I don't believe in gouging my customers on heavy shipping
and handling costs, but I must cover my costs so please understand
why you might get a higher shipping cost once I have had a chance to
pack the item and weigh it is because I don't want to take a high average
cost because that will mean a higher fee to the local winner and possibly
not enough for the winner on the West Coast. I try to use the new
eBay Calculated Shipping costs when ever possible
so I have been able to minimize this problem.
A fair handling fee is always added to all
orders and additional handling fees will apply to all international
orders because of the added time to complete customs documents and take
the parcels to the post office to be mailed in person. Some customers
may not understand what a handling fee is, so here it is in a nut shell.
On many new items the mark-up to sell the item on eBay does not allow
a seller enough profits to cover all the costs of running the auction
(eBay Fees, Pay Pal fees) nor to cover the costs of packing the item,
his overhead costs, gas and time to take the items to the post office
or UPS etc. These fees can add another 15% or more to the items cost
and traditional retailers who work on a 50% profit margin or more can
afford to absorb some of these costs. Remember that on eBay most sales
are made one item at a time, so the seller must go through all the work,
emails, costs, packing for the one item. A traditioinal retailer will
usually ship multiple items in an order to help offset his Handling Costs.
I don't know of any online retailer that doesn't have some sort of Handling
Fee included in their shipping fees to their customers.
That being said, my advice to all eBayers is
to always check on the total cost of the Shipping and Handling fees
on the items you are considering. If they are not clearly posted
as I do on my auctions, email them first before bidding to get a
clarification. Buyers do this all the time and I am happy to get
back to them with an answer promptly. Once you know your TOTAL
COST OF THE ITEM, if it looks like a good deal go for it. It is a common
practice on many ebay auctions to start an item at a very low price
(99¢ on a $100 item) hope the item reaches the proper price when
the auction closes and include a Handling fee to cover the eBay,
Pay Pal and packaging costs.
Ebay has continually increased their fees for just run the auction
so if the item doesn't sell each time it is run, the seller has to
absorb those costs. The increased shipping costs have also taken
a big bite out of a sellers profit margins, so please understand
we are all in business to make money, many sellers work hard to bring
the best value to their customers, please understand this and work
with us.
MY
PREFERRED SHIPPING:
USPS
First Class Mail with Delivry Confirmatioin on smaller items and Priority
Mail on medium sized items. UPS has now become a real player in the
shipping business for eBay sellers because of their alliance with Pay
Pal. On larger packages
UPS is very competitive in cost and
offer free insurance up to $100. Customers that use Pay Pal for payment
may also track their UPS packages at their Pay Pal account or on the
UPS web site.
On shipments made through the USPS their is no tracking but we do have
Delivery Confirmation which does show the package was delivered.
If I am not sure of the cost, I will e-mail you the cost for S&H
once I pack and weigh your package. Any estimated
S&H in the "Win" notification is subject to change and
will be based on the final weight of your package. The origination of your shipment is from Hazlet, NJ
07730.
Some of the items I sell are actually "Drop Shipped" directly
from my sources to you in order to save some money and to pass the
savings onto you. Some vendors I deal with will use
FEDEX Ground so you will be told at each auction which method is being
used.
DELIVERY CONFIRMATION & TRACKING:
All First Class Mail and Priority Mail shipments will be shipped with
Delivery Confirmation. This will give you the ability to see that your
package was delivered. You can view this information on
the USPS web
site
or by calling their toll free number at: 800-222-1811.
This service
becomes important if you are shipping to a business address or to
your home where theft might occur at your mail box, etc. It proves
that delivery has been made by the post office. On all UPS or FEDEX
Ground shipments you will be provided with a tracking number and
will be able to go to the respective web sites to track your shipments. Some
people wonder why they can't see the item as shipped when they go
to check on a parcel. Today it is not necessary for the clerk at
the Post Office to scan the item on receipt because we now use Pay
Pals shipping center to print our paid labels. We then simply have
to drop off the packages and not wait on long lines. As a result
they will not show the date and post office we shipped it from, but
will show a scan when it was delivered.
INSURANCE: I will
carefully pack all orders, but I cannot guarantee damage or loss that
occurs during shipping. You must make sure to cover your shipment with
optional insurance if you feel it is necessary (we have had two losses
through the Postal Service in over 5,500 auctions, which is a very good
average). Insurance on Priority Mail shipments is $2.20 for the first
$110 and $1 per $110 of additonal coverage. UPS and FEDEX shipments
include $100 of free insurance and only .75¢
per hundred dollars over the first $100.
We carry our own insurance policy on most shipments so if you don't see
a Postal Insurance tag on the shipment and you paid for insurance rest
assured it is covered against loss of damage. We have found that placing
a claim with the USPS for a loss or damage is more work then the claim
is usually worth, so we will cover loss or damage and do it quickly if
need be.
FOREIGN ORDERS READ
HERE!
There will be an additonal small handling fee
on some International
(orders under $15 will incur a lesser fee depending on the amount and
size of the item). This fee will help offset the additional online credit
card fees, my time and expense to pack and process (complete customs
documentation) and ship these orders.
You will be notified about the shipping costs when you receive an invoice
for your win and also when you confirm your win. Any fee I quote is the
estimated shipping for shipments to the US and in most
cases I can also include an accurate S&H for International orders as
well using the new eBay Shipping Calculator.
FOREIGN PAYMENTS:
I strongly urge you to pay using Pay Pal as it is fast and easy. I can
also accept Money Orders payable on a US Bank and in US Funds. Pay Pal
is still the best way to pay.
If you still want to make payment the old fashioned way, please
look at the check and see if a US banks name and address are on the check,
if not we can't accept it. International Postal Money Orders are usually
O. K. Many banks also sell American Express checks which are also fine.
LATE PAYMENTS:
If payment is not received within 7 days from the end of the auction,
I will contact ebay and issue a "Non-Paying
Bidder"
alert. This will trigger a letter from ebay to you that will give us
8 additional days to complete this transaction. If we still don't
complete it by then, I will apply for a Final
Value Credit for the fees charged by
ebay for this auction. At this point your eBay record will receive
a NPB Strike on your record. If you receive a total of 3 "Strikes" you
are out... and will get a permanent suspension from all activity on
eBay, please don't let this happen to you.
At that point I will also post a negative feedback on your profile explaining
the problem. Please be prompt and send your payment within a few days
of the close of your auction or email
me if you have a problem with payment.
Note: I have heard
all the reason in the world why a bidder can't honor his win. Most of
them deal with a "Death In The Family." This seems to be the
most common excuse and the next is "away on a business trip or
vacation." Please be honest with me and we can see if their is
a sensible resolution. It is an insult to my intelligence to use a lame
excuse...so DON'T DO IT!
RETURNED CHECKS:
If a check is returned by our bank for any reason you will be obligated
to pay me an additional $20 fee. I understand that this can happen to
anyone, but you will be obligated to make good on the check plus the
bank fee within 5 days of notification by me and I will only accept
a bank check or money order or for payment of the amount due.
If you refuse to make good on a bad check we will notify eBay's Safe
Harbor about this problem, file a negative feedback on your profile
and if necessary notify the proper law enforcement authorities that
you have passed a bad check. We consider this a serious offense and
will take appropriate action.
